I am 14 years old in highschool a male. I love music and listening to other djs do their stuff . I love listening to djs and suff that i want to learn how to a=make my own mixes and songs like they do but hwre do i start. I have a computer at home but no dj equipment at all? Should i buy some dj equipment or start of with digital dj software for a computer?
So i love music and i want to become a dj and i want to scratch. But i know nothing about it. so how do i get started? what equipment do i need to get?
i have been listening to icp, twiztid, boondox, abk, amb, blaze ya dead homie, dark lotus and esham and psychopathic rydas for years since i was 7 i am now 16,i have a job as for money im sure i can save up to afford these things. these artist inspired me to make rhymes and beats on the computer.i want to know do i need the computer to create my beats or can i use somethin els to make beats like these artists? also what exactly is need to make an efficient music studio in my room? i have a deck and 2 turntables so the dj part is filled, anything needed for a music studio in my room i will buy, as far as i know to my knowledge is i need a mic, speakers but anything, anything at all to help me create a studio will be very much appretiated.my old studio wasnt working for me because my rhyming partner has all of our ”equipment” in crap shape to where we cant use them anymore. were rap, our group name is skitzo, if any suggestion to change our group is also appreciated cuz i dont really like it. we are also wanting some people interested in making an album with us,when we get the equipment in working order,we are in houston TX so please help if you can, thank you
I want to buy DJ equipment, and I am an absolute beginner. Will someone please tell me, whether buying an amplifier is a must. I am planning to buy 2 turntables, a mixer and speakers. I am curious – how to figure out (given i am offered 2 turntables, mixer and speakers) whether I should also ask for an amplifier.
I have plenty of music and I have made my own mixes and tracks, i have no turntables, mixers, or big speakers, just a computer and software to mix , rip, cut, chop, tracks.
I have the software virtual dj but i dont have any turntables or anything and i was wondering what was the best starter package for someone like me! thanks for the help!
I was wondering if anyone knew how I can record the mixes I do and transfer them onto a cd. Is there a certain machine I need for that? If so..what? how much? where can I get it?
also if you know any good quality dj mixing software that can communicate with cd turntables please let me know.
I’m 13 years old and I want to become a DJ. I’ve used programs like FL Studio and Deckadance and have fooled around with them. I’ve never touched any real DJ equipment though. Where do I start to become a DJ? I have almost no experience. I’m not quite sure my parents would approve of shelling out $3000 for turntables and mixers (I have no idea what those are other than DJs use them). Maybe a software DJ is a the way to start out. I should stop asking myself the questions when I came here for answers. Any ideas?

Yeah, I want to DJ because it looks fun Does anybody have tips for DJing? And what turntable should I buy that’s $100-$400 (I only want to use turntables because it’s like the main equipment for DJing)?
^In that video is only a turntable required for that? And do you just pop a cd into it and remix it? Sorry I’m new Thanks.
ok so a lil background, i really enjoy listening to scratching and watching dj’s do it, not just the noise but mixing beats and songs all while playing not making beats then listening to them on my computer, although a pc connection would be cool but not needed. i wanna pull back on a record and use my crossfader and volume control knobs and well i think u get it =]
ok so i have a budget of $250 for 1 turntable, ill get a second one after if i get more into it or if i just get the money and im still haveing fun with it. and another $250 for a mixer. but i would rather my whole set be around 400 not 500.
i’ve researched a bit and im looking at either a gemini TT2000 or a similar numark but i’ve come to understand that numark is a newer company and possibly has … lest tested… equipment, i dont wanna waste my time with junk so if a $150 TT is junk and $230 is better thanks for the advice.
im a total beginner and like i said just wanna get into this, so can anyone help me out on what kind of equipment i should get, or what are important specs, ik direct drive is important for scratching more then mixing, and that i need a slippad. are there any other upgrades i shoudl get possibly a better crossfader. ok ima stop talking thanks for any help guys and gals. o and any sites would be nice i’ve been googling but insider knowledge would be alot better.
i use software called virtual DJ. I want to use my software, but have analog tables/mixer that mix whats running on my virtual DJ. sounds f’d. get it?? thx
I want to start creating mixes with mp3s, and DJing from my laptop, and making my own music. Programs like fruity loops and adobe audacity seem like they are over my head, what should I try what equipment should I buy? I think I need some sort of mp3 editing software, a digital turntable, am I on the right track?
give me prices and sites to find these things, and what wires id need to hook it up, not looking to spend a lot, plus i think id need a program on my comp too…any package deals online?
i’m buying a direct drive, not a belt, ….i have done a lot of research and already know pretty much how to use a mixer and turntables to dj trance…but like i said i’m wondering about whats better for the turntable arm…
everything on a laptop. If via laptop, what kind would you recommend and what software(s)? I will have to start networking and offering my services for free at first but I want to look legit and have good enough equipment so I can market myself and get gigs. Any advice? Thanks. (I have stellar taste in music and know a whoollllle lot so that wont be a problem!)
i am thinking anbout getting into djing. the funny thing is i dont know the first thing to a dj. i mean i have seen on sites dj turntables and mixers but do u only need turntables and mixer or more? if more what else? and how do you know if your getting a good one or not i have seen turntables for 2000 and some for 200 what makes teh difference? and also how do i learn i mean there are dj schools in toronto but where and how much does it cost. i am 16 by the way so i am an early starter. i got inspired by my frend who works at a nightclub has a perminent job there 2 nights a week and gets 3-4 grands a month and just graduated highschool. so he sealed teh deal for me to lookinto djing. and also is that a realistic figure or he just exagerated. he works 2 nights dont know how many hours and says he gets paid more for special events and gets taht much money cause he dosent host birthday parrties but has a perminent job at a club. do clubs pay more? how much u think clubs pay be realistic
