Is the current hardware compatable with VDJ? What more do i need to get my system running? can you give a step by step process to do so?

I’m very big into House music and want to start mixing/scratching my own music. I’ve been told that I need TWO Cd turntables (because this way I can burn my own music…versus using a more difficult vinyl to scratch with), A good mixer or synthisizer between the two mixers, Probably a good music/mixing program for my computer, headphones, speakers,etc…Any Dj’s (preferably House, trance, techno Dj’s) that could give their suggestions to the most necessary accessories needed to start DJing my own parties? I’m looking to spend no more then $2500 to start off. If i’m not mistaken, I think I can get a pretty solid system for that kind of money…Maybe also some suggestions on the cheapest place online to buy this Dj equipment…Thank You all SOOOO MUCH, I can’t thank you all enough! I am contemplating whether I should buy an all in one digital DJ system or two vinyl record turntables. If i bought turntables and a mixer what is everything else I would need and how can i set the turntables up to a laptop to run a DJ Software to feed my music? What free DJ softwares are there? How do I get the music? What kind of vinyl records do I need? Ive heard something about like timecoded or something…lots of questions but im learning this is hard and complicated. Thanks for all tips and answers.
I am a beginner Dj and I just purchased a mixer which has two slots for two mp3 players. My question is, do I still need turntables for my set up? Is scratching the only thing turntables would be needed for?
I’m using various DJ softwares (like VDJ and Traktor) and plnning 6to start DJing. I’m gonna get a DJX 700 ixer from behringer for around 100$ and two turntables with timecoded vinyl for control. I don’t know what interface to get for timcoded vinyl. I was looking at the numark one and stanton’s FinalScratch (scratchamp), but I’m not sure what to get. I’d rathr get something that can work with more than one program (like Stanton’s ScratchAmp-Open) thats also cheap.
And can this be used to connect just the mixer to the PC too, like a soundcard? before I get the turntables.
I also need turntables. I was looking at the Technics SL1200’s, but they’e a bit too pricy for me. I also looked at the stanton ones like t.50 and t.80, but t.50 is belt drive (can belt drive scratch well?). What is a good option for me.

i’m just curious–how much for like a basic dj setup, only the minimum amount of equipment, maybe explain the basic pieces of the setup… I don’t know that much about it, just kinda been interested lately. also is it pretty easy to get into? I play a few other instruments and have a pretty good sense of rhthym.

I have two working turntables, I had a mixer but it is no good now. Can I buy a USB mixer and use the two turntables I have with Virtual DJ? I am having such a hard time finding answers, any help would be appreciated, or if you know fo any good DJ forums around I could check out. Thanks!

i would say yes cause your manipulating sounds the same way you would with any other instrument. now i wouldn’t consider them an instrument just by themselves but when your add in a mixer and start manipulating the sounds on a record i would consider that an instrument.

no an ipod isnt an instrument unless you can maniplate the sounds on it. thats all music is is the maniplulation of sound. a bucket isnt an instrument untill someone puts a bunch together and makes a cheap drum set

i’m using a shuttle sn68sg2 desktop barebone and i just got the package of 4 gigs ram, 2.67 Ghz processor ~1 mb cache. and it has apparently a highdef 7.1 audio card. but i want to get a better one. i control it via virtual dj and a little hercules usb controller (the djcontrol mp3) then i’m running the comp into a Korg Kaoss pad mini(but i’ll get a kp3 one day).
so how good is that b/c i heard computer djs don’t really get taken as seriously as the old school turntable djs or any other dj lol

What I am confused about is the watts and ohms situation for the amplifier. If each speaker is rated for 500 watts @ 8 ohms, then do I need an amp that has 1000 watts @ 8 ohms? Or is it 500 watts @ 4 ohms per channel? I’m confused. Please help.
EDIT: So I need a 2000 watt amp that produces 1000 watts per channel?

Have a home stereo system with different components, all working fine. Upgraded the old record player to a new dj set up (mixer and 2 turntables) and one speaker cuts out or doesnt work at all when playing records. Radio still works out of 2 speakers, just not the record player…(?)
