I am horrible a choosing the right equipment for DJing. I have the skill from mixing on Pioneer turntables but i don’t really have the money to buy anything like that for personal use. I don’t want to buy a cheap piece of junk that will break in a couple of days but i hope i can find a good deal with something i can scratch on.
Thanks for Help
I just recently got turntables to go with my Hercules MK2 mixer/soundcard and use my Macbook to load my songs and use the program virtual DJ. I would like to actually DJ parties and get into stuff like that and I was just curious of what am I looking for exactly when buying amps or speakers for live DJing. Any websites and names of brands, technical specs, and prices, and anything else you can think of would be awesome thanks!!!
5 starts to best answer i choose!!!
Ok I’m thinking on buying a turntable, a Technics Sl-1200, however, although I have decent knowledge of turntables, I don’t know a lot about the equipment I should buy. I am not planing on Dj’ing, just to listen to some vinyls, so here are my questions
What kind of amplifier would be the best to buy with a Technics turntable (something decent and cheap)?
What are the main differences between different brand of cartridges?
A few things. First, I need you to confirm this set up. Tell me if its wrong. turntable connected to mixer, mixer connected to computer. I am going to be using my computer speakers to hear things. No big fancy hundred dollar pro speakers. But Is that set up right? Second, how do i know if the mixer has a preamp? I am buying from the internet so there is no actual checking it out first. Third, is it possible to connect the turntable straight to the computer? No mixer, no preamp?
Just if you need to know, I am going to be using the turntable for scratching. Not just for listening to old records. I want to become a DJ!
I’m in the process in buying some technics turntables used to spin house music but what is the difference between Technics SL-1200MK2 and Technics SL1200M3D turntable? Does it really matter which one I choose because I’m just a beginning dj. Just want to make sure I”m getting the right one for the house music style.
OK so i have about $140 and looking for a complete package of everything you need to be a dj (pair of turntables, mixer, etc). Everything ive looked at is way over how much money i have. is there anything in that range and is decent quality?
I’ve been in music and art all my life and I’m wanting to start doing the dj thing.
I need some advice…
What brands are good and should I start with cd mixers or turntables?
I have little experience with turntables. However, have a passion for electronica and have dreamt of becoming a DJ for years! My sister’s boyfriend in San Francisco uses them and back home my friends spun a lot of drum n bass, so messin around on theirs is about all the experience I’ve got! But I know I’ve got a touch. There is this ad on Craigslist that looks like this:
Selling a full DJ setup. 2 turntables and a mixer in an Odyssey DJ hard case. One table is MCS and the other is American DJ, the mixer is Newmark. Comes with extra cables, and a crate of records, many are battle records(full of beats and samples)”
This setup is $200 dollars and looks very nice. Since I am a beginner, would this be an okay setup for me? Or are these brands cheap in that NO ONE should use them… I really need some advice here. I don’t have a lot of cash but could very well do $200, it’s a start after all right? Anyways, an opinion would be great. Thanks!!
first of all…i been at vitual for a long time..with out any tables or midis….now im looking for some. my question is where can you get the virtual dj turntables? and if they are not sold….does any one know of any possibilites of turnables that will work on virtual. OR should i just get a midi?? Which one?
Second….how do i get latest version of virtual 6? download it ? buy it?
need some help from someone
I’m 16 years old, and i want to start making my own music along the lines of Hip Hop and rap. What kind of turntables should i get considering i am a beginner and totally new making music?
1. can you use 12″ records on a 19″ battle turntable?
2. Where can you buy 2000+ (year) records other than Ebay?
I’m trying to learn how to be a DJ, mixing and scratching, in a rock band with my friends. I don’t have much money, so i’m looking for some turntables that’s cheap but also allows me to easily access my music from cds, mp3 players (i have a zune), flash drives, a laptop, or built in memory, whatever works. I know walmart probably isn’t the best place to be looking but i found this http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9189615 there and it seems to be ok for what i want. i researched it elsewhere but couldn’t find any personal reviews about it. Would you say it looks good? If not what would you say is a good set for around $500 or less?
Hey, I’m thinking of getting a USB turntable. I’m a beginner at this and it seems really fun and i would like to get into it. What kind of beginner USB Dj turntable should i get? How much would it cost? BTW my closest to a Turntable is DJ Hero for ps3 lmao. Thanks for the help
