Ok im very good with computers and im one of the top in my school but i love to party. When i am at clubs i pay attention to wut da dj has like equipment wise and stuff. I went to cancun last year and the clubs are nice and i like da djs style down there. What would be the career for stuff like that. I know how to use all of the music software but ive never used a actual turntable in my life except on a computer software but i have created great mixes on it. Please help buz i am a senior in hi school dis year.
I have the Numark 818 Fusion package that comes with 2 turntables & a mixer. Its a really nice set and I’m pleased with it but the only problem is that no one can seem to tell me how to connect to my computer via usb or sound cards or whatever. I’d like to use my turntables on a program I have for my laptop to produce music. I know that Numark just came out with turntables that allow you to do so but I DJ with CDs and those are for vinyl. I love my set and don’t want to get rid of it so if anybody knows a way to use them on the computer without buying a whole new set, it would be greatly appreciated. I have a Dell inspiron 1521 laptop with vista on it, if that helps.
Please by as specific as possible; telling me to connect it with a cord isn’t the anwer I’m looking for. I need to know what kind or like exactly what to do.
i was wondering if there was a cheap mini turntable that can plug into your ipod nano and you can kinda DJ with it? If there is then can you send me a link to a website or tell me who its by and where i can buy it. Thanks
Hi I have 2 technics turntables and a numark matrix3 mixer and also a standard mac laptop. I was wondering if there is any DJ software where I can hook up my turntables into my computer and mess with the music with effects and all that. ANY help is appreciated. Thanks
Hey guys!
I need to mix 2 songs together with one of those turntable scratchy noises in between them. Can anyone help me out? Am I able to do it on Garageband (on a Mac)?
If anyone knows any programs I can use or can give me any tips that’d be great! I need to have the song by tomorrow because it’s for a show im in on Thursday!
I bought a Stanton belt-driven turntable yesterday. Included came with the RCA cable (the red and white pronged cables) but attached to that same cable is a ground (GND) cable that you has the “y” shaped piece that you have to slide under a screw to connect if. I tried hooking it up to my surround sound system in my room, but there isn’t enough volume coming out of the receiver and my receiver does not allow me to hook up a ground wire, just the RCA cables. What am I doing wrong?
Right now since I am just starting to create my own mixes I need to get a DJM-800 and Akai MPC1000 for fx. Also, I need some type of turntable that goes along with this.
I have a 3rd degree burn on my hand/arm and I was just wondering how long should I Waite before playing the Turntables again .. The turntables are DJ equipment (Scratching music).. By the way I what they call a full-thickness burn. ? A lot of nerves are damaged too … I asked the doctor but dose anyone have an explanation in a way a teen will understand !!!! Thanks
I am contemplating whether I should buy an all in one digital DJ system or two vinyl record turntables. If i bought turntables and a mixer what is everything else I would need and how can i set the turntables up to a laptop to run a DJ Software to feed my music? What free DJ softwares are there? How do I get the music? What kind of vinyl records do I need? Ive heard something about like timecoded or something…lots of questions but im learning this is hard and complicated. Thanks for all tips and answers.
I have an HP Notebook with a great music library and want to get into DJing I have a little experience in Clubs and house parties my problem is I’ve worked with other people and now I want to do my own thing and I can’t afford to get a Serato box yet. If a restaurant, club or individual had their own turntable setup but not a serato would I be able to use my music library with it? also I currently have Mixpad audio mixer, wavepad sound editor and Zulu. Thanks in advance
Yeah, I want to DJ because it looks fun Does anybody have tips for DJing? Also I will be only turntable drumming like Q-Bert.
^In that video is ONLY a turntable required for that? And where is the background music coming from (a machine or something?) Do you just pop a vinyl record into the turntable to remix it? Sorry I’m new
Thanks.
I just got DJ Hero for christmas, AMAZING GAME, I love it, but I’ve encountered a few problems. First off, the green platter button on the turntable gets stuck as I press it.
Also, I seem to have some lag, I press a button sometimes and I miss the note, even though I hit it!
How can I fix these issues?
Thanks in advance for any help.
oh, what i mean by “stuck” i mean the physical button thats actually on the turntable and it like gets stuck on the sides
like ill press it and if you look at it when i let go it will still be pressed in, THEN fially pop back out after like 2-3 seconds.
i know nothing about dj equipment but i would like to know because i am getting into it. What is all the equipment you need to make music sound good? and can cd’s be played or can you plug in music from the computer into a dj turn table? and also can you only make the scratching noise into music with vinyl records only or do they sell turntables that don’t need vinyl records to make the scratch noise? like electronic turntables
Thank you.
some background on me:
i am almost 16 and i want to learn to dj because i love music and parties, and i think it would be a fun thing to do as a hobby and also a great job to have between now and the end of college. I know some of the basics of mixing, beatmatching, effects, and scratching and i am currently practicing on the free virtual dj trial (computer only) and at best buy on their cheap display turntables and mixers until they tell me to leave. My dad is a wedding photographer and he has met a ton of djs over the years and he is trying to get one to let me carry his stuff around for him in exchange for lessons/tips. what i want to know is:
whats the deal with vinyl? is it still a good format choice (it seems like digital is cheeper, easier to store/carry, and more available)
how likely is it that i get a job once i have some experience? i live in the dc/metro area and i would be willing to do almost anything at first
any recommendations on buying my first dj equipment for practice/ birthday parties/ small, low paying events?
thanks so much for your help
ok so a lil background, i really enjoy listening to scratching and watching dj’s do it, not just the noise but mixing beats and songs all while playing not making beats then listening to them on my computer, although a pc connection would be cool but not needed. i wanna pull back on a record and use my crossfader and volume control knobs and well i think u get it =]
ok so i have a budget of $250 for 1 turntable, ill get a second one after if i get more into it or if i just get the money and im still haveing fun with it. and another $250 for a mixer. but i would rather my whole set be around 400 not 500.
i’ve researched a bit and im looking at either a gemini TT2000 or a similar numark but i’ve come to understand that numark is a newer company and possibly has … lest tested… equipment, i dont wanna waste my time with junk so if a $150 TT is junk and $230 is better thanks for the advice.
im a total beginner and like i said just wanna get into this, so can anyone help me out on what kind of equipment i should get, or what are important specs, ik direct drive is important for scratching more then mixing, and that i need a slippad. are there any other upgrades i shoudl get possibly a better crossfader. ok ima stop talking thanks for any help guys and gals. o and any sites would be nice i’ve been googling but insider knowledge would be alot better.
ok im making a remix cd i am a dj with turntables and stuff and i have all differnt songs lil wayne kayne west and all of them can anyone provide me with a link that has a good pic for the box cover
I need some answers from you guys! I’m now beginner DJ, and preferred remixing and want to make my own music like techno! I DON’T want scratching and spinning! Just remixing! I bought my own DJ package – Numark DJ in a box V.6 and already upgraded two new cartridges from stock into new Numark CC1’s! Can you tell me what I need to upgrade? Remixers or Turntables? I WANT to make music like Techno!!!
HI. I really want to buy dj equipment, yet the real turntables and mixers are way too much money for me. So, I wanted to buy either the Numark total control or an omni control. Is the DJ/IO USB Audio Output Interface for DJ Software necessary? (I copied the name from the website of B&H)
I’m using various DJ softwares (like VDJ and Traktor) and plnning 6to start DJing. I’m gonna get a DJX 700 ixer from behringer for around 100$ and two turntables with timecoded vinyl for control. I don’t know what interface to get for timcoded vinyl. I was looking at the numark one and stanton’s FinalScratch (scratchamp), but I’m not sure what to get. I’d rathr get something that can work with more than one program (like Stanton’s ScratchAmp-Open) thats also cheap.
And can this be used to connect just the mixer to the PC too, like a soundcard? before I get the turntables.
I also need turntables. I was looking at the Technics SL1200’s, but they’e a bit too pricy for me. I also looked at the stanton ones like t.50 and t.80, but t.50 is belt drive (can belt drive scratch well?). What is a good option for me.
-Please help
-thx -Joseph
I have two working turntables, I had a mixer but it is no good now. Can I buy a USB mixer and use the two turntables I have with Virtual DJ? I am having such a hard time finding answers, any help would be appreciated, or if you know fo any good DJ forums around I could check out. Thanks!

i wana get a semi cheap turntable that can scratch and do some dj tricks, does anyone know if a cheap turntable like http://www.amazon.com/Sony-PSLX250H-Turntable/dp/B00005T3XH/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-9527983-2808868?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1180637978&sr=1-1 can scratch and make some nice sounds like fast paced djing?
I am looking for a tattoo concept(art, paintings, drawings, or other tattoos). I want a vintage turntable or phonograph. I want this tattoo to show my love for music and how it has kept me out of trouble. I have been dj’ing and producing for the past 8 years. Dont really want just a stamped on turntable. i am looking for a detailed black and gray that would be a part of a sleeve. ANY ideas or links are welcome.
Thanks for any help
