I’m a full-time college student and need to make some $$$ on the side. I’m interested in DJing, but don’t know where to begin. I’ve been hearing about laptops, Virtual DJ, Midi-Turntables, etc? Is this the way to go? What does a typical beginner’s cost-effective setup look like? I’m mostly interested in spinning Techno, Trance, House, Electronica. Thanks for the help!
Also, what ar eyour thoughts on this?
Instead of using a cd player to mix the music can you hook up a computer to the mixer? And if so what are some good brands of mixers to do this? Also is there mixers that allow you to scratch like a turntable? And one last question what software should i look into buying for my computer to do this? Sorry so many questions.
So I love music. But I can’t sing or play an instrumet to save my life haha. So I decided I wanna be a DJ. My main influence is DJ AM cus he was amazing at making beats and knowing when to switch songs and i’ve been listening to him since crazy town. My main question is what all do I need since I’m just a beginner. Keep in mind when I say beginner as in no experience scratching. So what are the basics I would need as in turntable, speakers, records etc.
I’m very big into House music and want to start mixing/scratching my own music. I’ve been told that I need TWO Cd turntables (because this way I can burn my own music…versus using a more difficult vinyl to scratch with), A good mixer or synthisizer between the two mixers, Probably a good music/mixing program for my computer, headphones, speakers, etc…Any Dj’s (preferably House, trance, techno Dj’s) that could give their suggestions to the most necessary accessories needed to start DJing my own parties? I’m looking to spend no more then $2500 to start off. If i’m not mistaken, I think I can get a pretty solid system for that kind of money…Maybe also some suggestions on the cheapest place online to buy this Dj equipment…Thank You all SOOOO MUCH, I can’t thank you all enough! Best always!
I’m new to the DJ game and have just gotten interested in DJing. But I’m not sure whether or not I should learn to practice with vinyl. Not only does it seem outdated, but the added costs of turntables and records isn’t cheap. I’ve been told by many people to learn how to mix with vinyl but I’m not sure if it’s worth the time and money. With CD’s in such frequent use, is it really necesary to learn How To DJ with vinyl?
I just went to a concert (bfd) and saw DJ A.M., Mastercraft, and Moby, and I was amazed how much fun it was. Now, I’m interested in getting into DJing as a hobby, but I don’t know where to start or what equipment to buy. What kind of equipment should I buy (i.e. turntables), for a reasonable price and that I can (preferably) play using songs off my computer or mp3 player? And, can I teach myself how to start mixing or is it worth while to take a class on DJing?
I have no dj experience at all and all I have is a computer. I’d like to start mixing audio and trying to make some techno mixes. Is there any software that someone would recommend? I have no experience and I don’t have turntables either. Thank you!
I want to do scratching/remixing and also Club DJing. I want to buy equipment which is good for a beginner but is also good quality. What would you recommend? How much do you usually have to spend? I want to buy CD turntables not Vinyl Turntables, simply because its cheaper to buy CD’S & theyre more portable. What equipment would you recommend to start out? Or if you are a DJ and want to help me out… could you leave your email address? THANKS.
I am going to a music shop at the weekend, i have £200 to spend on a single turntable for scratching and mixing, i want to connect them to virtual dj. There were three i was looking at the Numark TT200, the Gemini TT-O3 or the Stanton T80. Which one should I go for?
I would like to start on turntables but its too expensive a risk in case i don’t get heavily involved in it. Also I’m at uni so can’t afford to splurge.
I’ll also accept any other recommendations I may have missed.
I am beginning to get more and more interested in DJ-ing and want to invest in some equipment to help me begin. I was wondering whether I should stick with the classics and get a vinyl turntables, or gettin a cd turntable, or even go with a computer dj set. what equipment should i get just to start out, and to save money in case i decide its not for me?
I want to be a music producer, I Love music and now i want to be a full part of my life. I am 14 years old and i think i should start now. I want to produce and make beats for Hip Hop, Rap, R&B, & Pop tracks. I’m looking to start spinning club dance music (trance, house ect.) as a hobby and I am not sure where to start. CD tables look a little more easy to use ( where do you get new techno records in the US anyways) but I am not sure. Any suggestions or tips would be great as well as equipment ideas to look up. Thanks a bunch.
Yeah, I want to DJ because it looks fun Does anybody have tips for DJing? And what turntable should I buy that’s $100-$400 (I only want to use turntables because it’s like the main equipment for DJing)?
^In that video is only a turntable required for that? And do you just pop a cd into the turntable to remix it? Sorry I’m new
Plus I’m looking for a How-To DJ guide somewhere. Can anybody give me one?
Thanks.
well i have really been wanting to learn how to scratch, but i don’t have 2000 grand to drop on a hobby, but i recently heard about the numark dj in a box battle pack. it reasonable priced but could i use it to learn how to scratch. I don’t plan on going pro but i just love the harmony and art of scratching. So do you know of any setups i can buy for beginners i preferably don’t want to spend more than 350 and an all together package would be awesome. thanks 10 points to best answer
